In the 20 years my 30 has been up and running, I've never seen any of these things. Maybe it's because I do have fish in there, but you'd think I'd see one once in a while.
Ok, so they're not shrimp. I hope to see some of those soon enough.
Who can I stock the tank with that will eat these beasties yet leave the shrimp alone? Or, how can I keep feeding the shrimp without supplying a meal for these critters? They may be harmless, but they're an eyesore. I squish any snail I see, but these things are way too small.
Finally, should I expect these in the nano?

Put some endler fry in there for a coupla weeks, then pull em.
I can pretty much say at this point that any fish will hunt newborn shrimp, sooo... colony can outbreed it, but expect to lose a lot of the babies.
you aren't going to get smaller than pygmy spotted rasbora and formosa, and they still try for the shrimp - H. Rasbora do in my tank when they find them on the glass, too, just don't hunt the moss like endlers did.

Did a massive water change last night, trying to siphon off the bottom as best as possible without disturbing the substrate. Also wiped down the glass with a sponge. Number of critter sightings way down this morning, though they might be hiding. Will go shopping for something small, interesting, and hungry this weekend.
