20 -> 29 upgrade

Post by neilanh »

So I happened upon a great deal on a 29 gallon tank, stand, and 2x65W light from a lady while I was en route to go build those nano stands last week. I decided to move my 20H into this one and use the 20H for another project in the upcoming months. I finally got around to the move tonight. Took about 3 hours to do the move. Don't mind the crappy camera.

Before (20H taken two weeks ago - big sword had to go last week, was getting way too big.)

So, as you can see, I have a bit more room. You guys better bring a lot of plants to the auction this weekend, cuz I think I'm gonna need them.

Sounds like someone wants to challenge Fransisco.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)

Looks like you are growing plants well! That spray bar is long, did you make it yourself? Dosent look like a regular Rena spray bar

Thanks for the compliment.

That's actually 2 rena spraybars. I run both my tanks this way. I ordered a few "replacement" spraybars, and the rubber endcap just pulls right off, and magically enough, 2 bars will fit right together with no modification needed, and it's a tight enough fit I'm not concerned with it coming loose. Replacements at planetrena.com are only like $3.99, so it's a cheap, easy mod that gives me a very even flow all the way accross the tank.

Also, if interested, the blue intake extension bars can be used with them as well. In my 46bow tank, I actually have one to help me get things centered and spread the flow a little bit longer accross the back of the tank. Stinks that they're blue, but I guess they could be painted too.
