Florida or bust!

Well, right now I think we're gauging interest, and then trying to find the best dates for everyone interested. Do you anticipate having any trouble getting 4 days off in the beginning of June?

My vacation time is Mon- Sun only. I cant start at the end of a week I'll need to put in for 2weeks vaction to do Thur- Tue. My only problem is if the date changes once I'm OKed to go it might be difficult to switch.

I can take whatever time is needed - I'm in a f=job I need to take a week off every three months just to keep sane. May and/or June is when I'm due for another week off. I can offer a Honda Odyssey mini-van that seats a total of seven but really just six comfortably. Or, better yet four in the captain's chairs with lots of space for stuff.

I'm game, and my schedule is flexible, but unfortunately, shorter is better for me. We're getting into the dry season and work really starts "heating up" round about that time.

What kind of accommodations are you thinking about? I am curious about the price range; for example, when you made the trip a couple of years ago, how much did you spend on hotels?
Also, would you leave very early in the morning or at night?

Day's Inn or Red Roof Inn type - $50-$60 / night for a 2 bed room.
We use coupons! So you can expect to spend about ~$150ish on hotel rooms
total. Hopfully we find places that have complimentary breakfast and we're
set.

Memorial day weekend in May or the second weekend in June works for me if we can't do it the first weekend.

I'm in favor of four days in Florida, depart Thursday and return Tuesday. While in Tampa area we can visit my cousin - she and her husband own the best ice cream shop in the Tampa area (http://www.strachansdesserts.com/). My treat.

I wouldn't want to force people to adjust to my schedule - but the 2nd weekend
in June will work for me. However - don't change the plans just
on my account. 2nd weekend in June may not work for everyone
wanting to go.

June 7th - 12th would work fine for me. It's immaterial to me which weekend it is.
