Using dry ferts

Well I'm thinking of taking thr plunge into the world of Greg Watson and dry ferts. After years of "going through the motions" with Seachem N, P, K, Flourish, etc. (Like 5ml 3x per week in a 110 gallon) I've grown tired of wasting money on commercial pre-mixed.

So the questions are:

1. Which chemicals are everyone actually using?
2. Are you following EI, PPS, or some other regimen?
3. Is there something unique I should be aware of?

Hi Jim,

I think most of us use:

N - KNO3
P - KH2PO4
K - K2SO4

I've been using the plantex csm+b for trace and greg's iron chelate, but I think I'm beginning to lean toward the camp of folks that sticks with SeaChem's iron and flourish for micros. If you do use Plantex, make sure to dose Mg and Ca in addition.

I agree with Kris.
CSM/CSM+B seems you have to dose quite a bit of it to get Fe levels up.
I get better results with Seachem Iron + Flourish Trace.

I use the what Kris listed. I use flourish in one tank and CSM+B in another, in the tank that get CSM I just double the dose, 10ml in a 55 every other day. I dose Ca and Mg in both tanks. Seems to work fine. Also when you order do it through the link in his forum here, we get a kick back!

Yup, I'm only using the macros also. The Seachem flourish and iron are more complete in my experience. You also used to be able to find 5 gallon jugs of Tropica Mastergro.

Big Al's Online sell's Tropica Master grow. It's now renamed to Tropica Plant Nutrition Liquid. They also sell large jugs of Seachem Flourish (2L), Flourish Iron (2L), Flourish Potassium (2L) and Flourish Excel (both 2L and 4L) for good prices. Shipping isn't that bad, either.

I'd probably be up for a group order, but I need to wait until after Christmas to order anything. Sad, but true: I have SeaChem entire product-line on my Christmas list. (If you don't need anything, you may as well ask for what you'll use!)

I could do a group order, and I asked for Big Al Gift Certificates for Christmas. Mine might need to wait until after Christmas as well.

CSM+B contains more Fe then any other, although flourish seem to be a little more complete with what it offers.
