The rainwater runoff tank that you keep outside...what happens when it gets freezing outside? Do you have anything special that you have to do to keep it from freezing up? Just hit me so I thought I would ask.

If the barrell freezes usually the top 3-4 inches is solid. I'lll use a bucket of tap water and it pour over the top of it. Once the iceberg moves freely, I siphon the water out. Most times the sun will loosen the top layer of ice enough for me to get the sump in.
Then there are the instances where there is no water. In that case, I gradually switch the fish back to tap.
