I am so jealous! Hope you have extras for the auction.
You know Sean, I've been toying with a North American Crypt Society for a number of years; an ECS for this side of the pond if you will. I've always wanted to attend an ECS conference but timing has always been the worst.
Think there would be enough interest to get off the ground?
Cheers.

Jim,
What the ECS group does is a completely different beast from what we do here. The people that best fit their mold are the killi keepers that can tell you the water pH, DO levels, turbidity, nearest road and airport, and GPS data of the puddle that (insert the name of) a guy that fell in and got the eggs stuck to his forearm hair, for that fish in the 2.5 gallon tank, third from the left, on the top shelve of that rack of 50. No the GOLD colored fish, not the Yellow fish in the next tank, that's from a different puddle that had a pile of elephant dung in it.
Honestly, I can't see many people here getting into terestrially growing plants and keeping track of where they came from, who collected them, etc. There might be 10 of them here, I don't even think I'm one of them.
Besides, how do we keep my 'buddy' from joining so we don't have to put up with his flamboyant, diva-esque, quitting of the club when someone has a different opinion?

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.
If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!
I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up!

Point taken on your buddy there. Somehow he completely slipped my mind. Hopefully you won't have to suffer his company and questions at the ECS conference.
I guess my misunderstanding of the ECS then was more like GWAPA only specialising in Crypts.
They and Lagenandras have always facinated me and I was hoping to find like mined people from whom I could learn more and expand my understanding and my collection. I have no problem with learning the botany and horticultural aspects but yet don't want to fall into the obsessive compulsive behavioural personalities either.
Cheers.

My buddy is bogged down in the AGA meeting this year, no worries,,,, on seeing any Americans actually. I think I could be the first visitor from across the pond for these meetings.
It's not obsesive to the botanists involved in the group. How many botanists do you count as members of the AGA? That let on they are botanists?
It's not really a gwapa meeting, it's like a years worth of gwapa meetings, everyone is expected to give a presentation. No auction, big trade, 2 field trips. It's a year of gwapa activity in one fun filled weekend.
