Suggestions for a new setup...

Post by keeperofthefish »

I still haven't been to a meeting. It seems every weekend there is a GWAPA meeting, I am traveling for work, or I have something else going on that I cannot miss. In any case, I have been happily plugging along with my 20 gallon high, but I now have a 30 gallon long to setup with an Eheim 2213, 96w CF and Flourite. I have another DIY CO2 Hagen kit, like I'm running on my 20, but I plan to switch over to a real CO2 system as soon as the money appears. With that configuration in mind, I am going to set it up this week and I am now on the prowl for plants.

These are some of the plants I really want to include:

-Cambomba furcata
-Ludwigia gladulosa
-Ludwigia repens
-Monewort (scientific name?)
-Rotala indica
-Crinium calamistratum
-Limnophila aromatica
-Limnophila gigantia
-Glossostigma
-Vesicularia dubyana (java moss)
-Anubias barteri
-Cryptocoryne wendtii
-Cryptocoryne lutea
-Cryptocoryne becketii
-Rotala rotundafolia

Does anyone have any other suggestions that would look good with this? I really wouldn't mind if my tank looked exactly like Jeff's, posted in the gallery section!

And how about this for a question: does anyone have any of these readily available in sufficient bulk to share?

Thanks for the complement, do you want all of those plants or a select few from the list? That is alot of plants for a 30 gallon. Also your Hagen kit may work better on your 30 gallon if you use 2 liter soda bottles instead of the small canister that comes with the kit.

-Crinium calamistratum - This one is way too large for a 30 gallon tank. It needs a 24" deep tank at the least.

I will have several of those at the meeting auction if you can make it Dec. 3rd.

Ludwigia repens
Rotala indica
Limnophila aromatica
Glossostigma
