My boys should be coming with me since they don't have master class. They will probably be bringing their laptops with them.

I will definitely have some water lilies to bring to the auction. These are small ones I've separated off some other small ones I saved from Lowes a few years ago. They are supposed to be red, white, yellow or pink but I don't know which is which because the tags faded. I will bring some regardless but if someone wants a few let me know so I bring enough. Otherwise I don't want to flood the auction.

I may bring a division of my Helvola yellow Pygmy water lily (from Lilypons). Any one interested in outdoor lotus? If it turns out the new house has insufficient sun I'll have to reduce my collection.

Yes you can grow lotus in half barrels. But the lotus needs to be in something that doesn't freeze completely. I have my lotus in a tub which is in a half barrel for the summer. In the winter I put it in the bottom of a pond. You can try putting it in an unheated garage for the winter.
