Assassin snail source?

I've added three yoyo loaches to my tank and so far they don't seem to be making a dent in my MTS population. Anyone have some assassins they want to let go at the May meeting?

Are there local commercial sources if not?

In the meantime I've built a snail trap (probably critter trap) out of a peanut butter jar. I'll try it tonight.

It's big enough that it should be easy to remove the not-a-snails.

Also I'm "fishing" with a couple of raw cucumber slices on clips and string. One youtube post suggested that as well. I've got the lights off now to see if the somewhat nocturnal MTS will rise to the bait.

I'll also just crush or remove all the ones I can when I can reach them.

I'm not trying to eliminate them totally since that's likely impossible anyway. I just want to get them waaay down in number from where they are.

At least I can sell or give away the cockroaches, aka RCS.

"Fishing" with cucumber was a flop. Ditto the snail trap. Both amused the shrimp greatly.

I probably have some spares, but I think we all need to hear Josh's lecture on the dangers of assassin snails before I go spreading them around.
