I attended yesterday and today and I have to say I'm a little disappointed.
There were a lot of people attending, and a lot of vendors.
It was organized really really well - most everything seemed to be going
pretty smooth. A lot of speakers, varied topics, but almost consistantly the
quality of the talks IMO wasnt good. A lot of talk w/ little information.
A couple were like George Booths talk from AGA 2003 - been there, done that,
please tell me something new and I really don't care about your setup.
By contrast, even though I'm biased, I think the information presented to
the folks at the talks in AGA 2004 was of higher quality in terms of new information
provided to the attendees. I feel folks walked away from most of the talks / demo
with a wealth of information and an itch to try something new.
Here's my grade for MACNA 17
Vendors: A+ (40-60 vendors)
Organization: A+
Talks: C+
Venue: B+
A/V: A+
Overall I'll give it a B- since the talks is what I paid for primarily but don't
feel that I got my moneys worth.
Oh..BTW, the same guy was there from Kent. I wanted to bash his head in with
a peice of PVC for promising GWAPA the product and then giving it away to
everyone last year. Somehow I managed to resist.
