Anyone have any experience with Xmas moss? Best water parameters? And where it originates?

I'm looking for a moss that grows in South America and isn't "tied down"...like riccia.

Thanks!!

Rumor has it that Xmas moss is from SA. However,
I know it likes cooler water, so if it is from SA,
its from the cooler regions. That may be a problem
in your Discus tank with the higher temps.

Thanks Ghazanfar...looks like I need to give up on moss for the discus tank...and the riccia is "WAY" to much trouble.

Yeah most mosses require cooler water. But now
since you're not restricting yourself to a biotope,
you have a lot more species of plants to work with!

I am still down here in Florida and found something that might do for you. No idea what it is, and it's really difficult to describe. It kind of forms a net of really tough fibers, which feel almost like hair, then has a lot of tiny green leaves form all over the net. The leaf size is very small (I originally thought it was some kind of algea when I first spotted it. I'll bring some back with me and you can see what you think of it. Might be a possibility for you.
