It took my Staurogyne 'porto velho' a long time to get established in my tank, but I do have Flourite in a high tech tank with EI dosing. In fact it was looking so bad I had thought of just pulling it all out but as a last ditch effort I tried adding Osomocote gel caps every 3 square inches and every 45 days and it still took a couple of months but it took off growing, so I assume it now has a large root system and I have stopped adding the gel caps (since Christmas) with no ill effects and its still growing well.

I don't know why mine took so long but it never seemed to get a good root system until it got an overdose of nutrients in the substrate?
Sincerely,
Tim

Hi Julie,

Can you tell me what and how much you are dosing nowadays for your 29 gal tank?
I'm trying to compare figures from different club members to come up with the starting figures for my dosing routine.
