Tonina fluvatilis is somewhat new in the US, although
its been around for a while in SE Asia. It's a
south american native and one of the few plants I
know of that prefers soft water. Not a tremendously
fast grower - it takes a few weeks to get going. Once
it puts out some roots (really really fine and fuzzy)
the growth picks up a bit. Looks decorative in groups
of 8-12 stems of varying height.
Light requirements : moderate - high

they are still very popular in asia at this moment. many people think they r hard to keep. actually they dont really need bright light as Ghazanfar mentioned above. most people think PH is a most important thing to grow this plant, but the fact is not.PH around 6.8. they will still be ok. KH is a trick!!! if u use RO unit, they will do just fine coz their KH MUST at 2 or less. they need very soft water!!!

enjoy ur tonina if u have them!!! <edited><editID>Pigheaddd</editID><editDate>38048.640474537</editDate></edited>
