Nice! This is the first time C. noritoi and C. hudoroi have been in our auctions, isn't it? C. noritoi looks like C. pontederiifolia, are there any major differences? Are both of these submersed, or from your emersed setups? (I'll 2nd Aaron's question about the Utricularia -- I'm guessing it's emersed, right?)SCMurphy wrote:Auction

My daughter's name also starts with a "V" (Vivienne). Does that count?halak wrote:Sure, $100 for three stems. You are one lucky fellow.
Or, alternatively, you could just change Wesley to Viktor. You could save some money that way.
This is the one you have right?

The U. livida is submersed, as is the C. hudoroi. The C. noritoi is emersed but converts easily, looks like C. pontederiifolia but much smaller. It grows slowly and does not take over your aquarium. The Spiranthes odorata is an aquatic orchid, I am growing it emersed at the moment. I had them submersed for 8 years before moving them to the other set up while I rework that aquarium. It also converts easily to submersed conditions.

Is the U. livida from Michael Szesze? Just curious because he lists it as terrestrial.

Re: April meeting
Yes, although "terrestrial" for a Utricularia mean in a wetland setting with emersed leaves and roots and bladders in saturated soils. They haven't started using "amphibious" yet to discuss these plants. This is one that can grow leaves underwater, and btw Michael told me it could.Aaron wrote:Is the U. livida from Michael Szesze? Wow! You folks don't know how nice Sean is being here! A couple of days ago he pm'd me asking if I'd be at the meeting under the guise of having an intern from work possibly come to talk with me about job opportunities. Now that I told him I can't make it, he's offering all these awesome plants to you lucky few knowing I won't be there to snap them all up! I never realized he was such a softy!
Cheers.

Re: April meeting
Jim, I was bringing them before I PM'd you, I didn't want to reply back and make you feel bad about missing out. I could have, but I didn't. I didn't even mention the three types of hairgrass I have from my "pond" outside to bring to the meeting.

Aaron,
I'll post a picture of the one I have tonight. Mine is rusty-colored (maybe because it's been under water for a long time). It might be a different, and more valuable, species.
