Of all the stupid things...I did my weekly 50% water change last night, and forgot to add Prime. Two hours later, I noticed two floaters and added a triple dose, but the damage was done. I lost ten out of my 17-fish school of Espey's rasboras. My 4-member rummynose team survived, as did my amanos. But I'm going to need to restock some.
I've been getting more cautious about buying wild-caught fish. I know most of our suppliers are great, but I'd prefer to buy farm-raised or home-bred fish if I can from now on. What species at a LFS are typically farm-raised?
Non-wild caught fish?
Re: Non-wild caught fish?
I'm too chicken to have discus. Plus, the tank is only 57g and gets a lot of people traffic. No place for shrinking violets.
I was more thinking about some of the shiny tetras and rasboras. Are cardinals ever farm raised?

Centreville Aquarium has been carrying some tank raised cardinals lately.

Rach sells them as well.

A lot of the tetras and rasboras are farm raised. As mentioned already TR cardinals are pretty easy to find.
