Transitioning emmersed to submerged
How does one accomplish this?
Well, I am CERTAINLY not an expert, but when I have moved things from my emmersed to my aquarium, I just plopped them in there. In some cases the leaves morphed into their submerged state without falling off. In other cases the emersed leaves fell off and new leaves formed. In most cases I've had success.

Some plants will drop the leaves as the top grows new leaves, so at the worst you might have to cut the bare stem at the bottom and replant the top with the new submerged growth. Ludwigia peruensis aka Ludwigia glandulosa is a plant that is typically grown emersed and looks totally different after the conversion.
