Plant was burgundy...

Post by FrannyB »

Now it's not. What is the plant and what am I doing wrong? New growth is growing in green! Burgundy color is gone as well.

It's a Ludwigia -- looks like Ludwigia palustris to me. Depending on the amount of light it's receiving, and the amount of nitrate in the water column, it's color can be from green to blood red. The more light, and less nitrate, the redder it'll be...

That's the Ludwigia sp. 'Rubin' you bought from me at the auction, right? I have some stems that grow along the back that aren't so red as the ones directly under the light. It just needs iron and lots of light.

While you guys are talking Fe, I just ordered Iron Chelate 11% DPTA and I like to dose wet, I see conflicting amouts to mix and dose can you add to it.

Sorry for thread crashing Franny.
Sincerely,
Tim

Yes Cavan, it's the one. The tank is getting 2 x Aquaflora and 2 x midday 10 hrs.

Gotta order some iron. Do you think putting iron in gel caps as a root tab would benefit the plant better than column dosing?

smh @ Tim :)
