What if you keep the crap nv on to rough-adjust and also use the in-line nv to fine adjust?

If this is merely an ASA with no regulation (which is what I think it is) then the full 800+ PSI will be seen by the NV55 (or equivalent) and it won't work well.

ASAs are basically dangerous.

I thought the Empire ASA's had an output pressure.... is that actually controlled in the guns themselves? Most guns are what, up to 300 PSI - I'm under the impression that is done inside these little "regulators".... I hope, for Damian, that they are.

Still ten+ times the pressure the needle valve sees in a typical system, granted. :) Hence, the trouble dialing it in, and the expected tank dumps if it gets down in pressure.... guessing on those, but.... I think they are good guesses.

EDIT: I kin spull!

Most are nothing more than on/off valves that only serve to make a connection and depress the pin valve when turned on. Hence "air source adapter" rather than "regulator".

There are fixed pressure regulators but they're called regulators.

Guns have one or more regulators in them. See the Palmer Pursuit website.

Nahhh.

Really good at not trying to tinker - in the end, it ain't worth it to me. You are going to spend how many hours, and how much stress, and how much money, to... "save" money... maybe.. or maybe blow a bunch of lines and kill a needle valve.... we shall soon find out. :)

If it is a non-low side output thing and just an on/off like Jim suspects, working inline is going to be... interesting. And it very well could be, looks like there are $20 ones that are simply on/off, and $80 ones with a regulator built in.... what is it, know a model name?

I'm sorta with Jim. Scrap it, sell it for whatever you can get for it, buy a real regulator, buy the adaptor for paintball sized tanks, and be done.

Out of curiousity...

Could have had a real regulator, with a solenoid, needle, and adaptor, on your doorstep and delivered for what, under $100, and 15 minutes of click and buy. What ya into this venture for so far? And how much time into it?

I'm with Jim and Dave on ths one.

What's your time worth? And what are you spending on parts let alone what's the reliability of what you're starting with?

It's like cars. You can buy a Pinto bomb, and fix it up to look like a Crown Vic. But at the end of the day, it's still a bomb.

Cheers.
