Barclaya Longifolia?

Post by FrannyB »

I've been searching for this plant for a while. I've seen it for sale on a couple of sites, but the plants displayed have sort of serrated leaves.

Is this the correct name for the plant pictured? This is the plant I prefer.
Anyone have this plant?

I have a couple of plants, but they just went dormant for the season. I won't see them again until next spring.

I'll make a note to remind myself to check if you're still interested then.

Cheers.

Okay. It is a striking color. I need red plants to break up my green themed 120. Need to find some before spring.

I have it. The very red leaves are the new growth. As they get bigger the leaf gets more green on top and stays reddish underneath. Like this picture.

That look more like a Crypt wendtii altough it may not be, and wow that's a llong time for an aquatic plant to go dormant, it's just new to me.

It's a similar shape to wendtii, but it grows to 31" tall.
