Cryptocoryne nurii pic?

Post by Jim Miller »

Anyone have a "field" of c. nurii in their tank that they could snap a pic?

I understand they are copper in color like the Wendtii but shorter in stature. Is that correct?

I like the color of the Wendtii but they just a bit tall for where I have them in the tank. Same size but more like c. parva in size would be perfect.

Check out the January meeting notes:

Jim took a picture of Ghazanfar's 215g, and I'm pretty sure I got it in the video.

Hi Chris

I'm pathetic in identifying stuff. Is that it on the lower LHS at 17 seconds?

Thanks

Yes, and there's a (poor) closeup of it on the front right of the tank at 1:23 through roughly 1:30.

Here's the picture of it Jim took:

Excellent! Gotta get me some a that!

On second look it's variagated like a coleus. Any crypts just copper and low?

What would happen if I just tried repeatedly trimming my Wendtii long leaves? Would it get lower and bunchier?

I've only ever seen that in a few of Amano's older tanks, and even then, it was not low like nurii or parva. Though I think (and the crypt experts will have to correct me if I'm wrong) wendtii will lay flatter under high light.

Maybe I should nuke my lotus and go with a little grotto of nurii with some wendtii surrounding.

i have a small unidentified crypt that under lower light (2 bulbs, 54WT5ho) stays flat against the substrate. now i fixed the fixture to have the 3 bulbs on and now is starting to perk up...is bigger than parva but not as big as nurii.

Ok, now I'm definitely in the hunt for c. nurii!

Anyone have some for sale?
