Disposal of Fertz & Sceptic Tanks

Post by Tyger »

Greetings Folks,

I am having a 'lively' debate over disposal of a bottle of fertz into a household spetic system (e.g., NPK Solutions or Micros [CSM+B] typical to IE or PPS Systems). I am sure that several of you have the answer... so enlighten us.

I don't think it would be a big deal into a septic tank. Its no different than me fertilizing my roses outside. There are no hormones or anything in it.

Why not just put them on the shrubbery?

Well, that's a good point, though I am still curious about whether or not it would harm the sceptic - lol.

When in doubt don't mess with the septic tank. If by chance you nuke the bio processes there it can be $10K or more to replace the septic field. You won't know something is wrong until the ground above the septic field starts getting soft and unpleasant aromas surface. By the time that happens it is usually too late.

Hardly worth any science experiment.

I agree with Jim. Don't mess with your septic system!
