Officially there will be nothing other than Cichlids and Catfish allowed in the ACA auction.
That being said, how many people would be interested in selling items from a room should GWAPA sponsor such a thing? The preliminary plan would be to handle it like a meeting auction, in that plants would be bagged with members names on the item and then sorted by type/price so that for example all bags of Java Fern would be the same price (unless there was some that were substantially bigger) to keep things simple. Someone would then be on hand to record what was being bought and then at the end of the event the sellers could check out just like at a regular auction. In the room there would be space for other items, should members have dry goods to sell also (within reason). The room would be open for sales as long as someone was there to man it...and ideally we would like to have everyone selling volunteer for a block of time to sit in the room to watch over the process.
The room would be for Friday and Saturday.
GWAPA would get the standard cut of all proceeds to help offset cost of the room.
Traffic will be driven to the room from the club table in the main area and by a tag on the official listing board for vendor sales.
What do you all think?

Its a hotel, so unless you get asked to leave by the hotel staff, and if we are using one of their rooms I am not sure if they could ask you to leave, but the convention doesnt control the hotel. You just would not be able to participate in the convention events. There are other people staying at the hotel that are not there for the convention I am sure. I would imagine that someone attending the convention would need to be the one to pay for posting our room information on the message board, which there are several of us capable of doing that.

I hope we have already made the reservation for this room or we might be out of luck. There are posts over on CCA stating that the hotel is completely booked and questions were being asked about an overflow hotel.
