I have a quick question. At present, I am running a Marineland C-360 with my 65-Gallon (36x18x24). It is my hope to add an inline heater and reactor on the output side (i.e., Sera Flore CO2 Active Reactor & Hydor Eth 300 In-Line Heater 300). I know the Marineland uses Vinyl Tubing w/ID of 3/4" (19mm); however, Sera Reactor & Hydor Heater are designed to connect to 5/8" (16mm).
- Reducer (Option 1): I thought an easy fix might be to insert a reducer and transition between 3/4" (6/8") and 5/8" prior to inline units and possibly back again; however, when I ran a quick check for reducers, I found 1" to 1/2" reducers so these are not quite right.
- Retubing (Option 2): I was also considering just purchasing enough 5/8" tubing to retube the set-up. As I am using the custom-flo for intake-output, I know this will work fine; however, I am wondering whether using the 5/8" (16mm) on the Marineland C360 Block Valves designed for 3/4" (19mm) vinyl tubing would work. In this regard, I would be looking to stretch the vinyl tube an extra 1/8" to fit the valve (5/8" to 6/8"). In addition, I was wondering about the flow-rate for the filter (i.e., I know the Marineland C220 runs 5/8" w/220 gph flow rate; whereas, the Marineland C360 runs 3/4" (6/8") w/360 gph flow rate - should I expect slower flow-rate, higher expelling of water on output, or some other problem).
