What to do about soft acidic well water?

With the ph already at 6.4 and almost no kh won't the ph plummet when 20-30ppm of co2 is added?

I really don't want to kill more fish.

From what I understand pH shifts due to CO2 have little to no effect on fish. pH changes due to constantly changing kH, that's a different issue.

Shift your GH up to the 4-6 range and you'll have perfect CRS and OEBT shrimp breeding conditions.

I wonder how much a truckload of our well water would fetch at a GWAPA auction?

Did I mention that we also have iron bacteria in it as well? Not enough to create a smell but does make a bit of a red slimy ring in the WC tanks.

Seems like you have the exact same type of water that I have. Soft and acidic water is great for planted tanks The only problems we'll run into is if we start a salt water tank.

But yea I'd say your well water is stuff of miracles when it comes to planted tanks and soft-water fish. I wonder if there's a secret pipe in the well that leads to the amazon...
