At least the tank will be used. Honestly, it will make a nice photo tank...

All that said, between ADG's line and Green Leaf Aquarium's line of rimless tanks, I have a feeling that there will be opportunities in the next few months if people are interested to get nice tanks for a nice price via group order if we have enough folks on board. Sure, won't be the cost of a $5 raffle ticket, but still.

Yep, to each their own I guess. Still makes me sigh though, gotta admit.

I have a brain fart to really improve raffle release next time around, have to pass it along and see what feedback it gets. In the end, PVAS still runs everything on that end of things, so it is their deal to do.

He's using that for a photo tank? Just thinking about that makes my head hurt. What a waste.

damn, how much did they set you back?

I would have entered into some spirited bidding had I been there for that sale.

As it was, I had to leave at 4:15, and there were a lot of items yet to be brought up that I was interested in. Anybody know who seller YY is? I wouldn't mind going for another half dozen of those marble angels if he/she has any more.

The darters were up in the morning, probably just didn't recognize name.

The males were incedible, I brought two pair of them up as a runner.

Etheostoma caeruleum doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

I didn't get there until around 1, you snooze, you lose.

I've attempted darters before, but only real local ones and you can't keep them with the shiners and dace that are much more effective feeders, nothing makes it down to the darters. However, my native tank is currently in search of inhabitants and the cool winter season is the perfect time to take a shot at them again.

Tom, they were in the PVAS auction two months ago too, so someone must be breeding them. Shoot a note to the PVAS forum seeing if anyone has some more for sale.

You did a great job with your scape at Aquafest. Both tanks in the challenge turned out really beautiful. You handled your defeat very graciously.

And on topic, the auction was huge. Hundreds and hundreds of fish and plants, and other items. I picked up some cardinals, swordtails, and a few plants.
Thanks Paul!

Dont know why you would need a rimless tank for a photo tank, oh well.

Tom, you left at exactly the wrong time! It was about 4 pm when everyone started getting tired, and many folks started to leave, and incredible deals could be had. I picked up a quartet of kribs for three bucks, two beautiful rainbow fish for a dollar, a family of eight endlers for a dollar, some of Sherry Mitchell's gorgeous snakeskin guppies for a dollar, and some huge bags of incredible stem plants for a tenth what they would cost on APC. Even electric blue jack dempseys were going for ten bucks, it was crazy. A few things held their value even late in the day (plecos and cories come to mind), but bargains were everywhere.

My favorite win, however, was the monster emersed-grown ozelot sword with over a dozen flowers and baby plants on it. THANK YOU FLORIDA AQUATIC NURSERIES!!!!

Having only been to CCA, PVAS, and GWAPA auctions (all of which are pretty awesome), I was absolutely floored by that auction, it was incredible. They went from 10 am to about 6 pm, and were probably doing 75 items an hour.

I got some beautiful peacock gudgeons. I can't wait to see them as full color adults. I also got a few of those Blyxa aubertii plants, and a clip on light for my betta cube.

Ron estimated that they averaged 125 items sold per hour, with over 900 items. It was one of the top two biggest auctions since I joined 9 years ago.
