Lighting for a 10 gallon Shrimp Planted Tank

Post by tekken »

I just ordered 20 red cherry shrimps and so gonna put them in a 10 gallon planted tank. What's a good light for this type of setup? Powercompact or T5HO? Make my own?

Pretty much any of those options will work. T5's will run cooler, but PC's work just as well. Whichever fits your wallet. :-)

Do they make a T5HO for a 20" long tank? I've never seen one. Catalina Aquarium has a couple of nice CF fixtures for a 20" tank.

i used to have an old regular incandescent fixture and used two of the 13Watt compact flourescent bulbs (energy efficient bulbs for home) and had a ton of growth!! until the fixture broke and couldn't find another one :(
