I'm looking at PC lights for 30g and 20g-high tanks, and I want to be able to grow either fairly demanding plants or regular plants very fast.

What do you think would be best:
96w or 192w for the 30g?
65w or 130w for the 20g?

The larger figures seem a bit much to me, but I haven't actually tried that much wpg on any tank.

96 on the 30G and 130 for the 20G - add plenty of CO2,
put on your shades and stand back!

Less for the 30 because it's shorter right? (Just trying to stimulate the height vs volume argument)

You could probably get away with 110 over the 20 and still require sunscreen to work in it.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

Any pointers for working with that much light over the 20g? I'll definitely have the co2 cranked up! What plants would you use?

Maybe I should be looking at the 72w option on the 20g?

Gad! You folks are too high light for me! Reef levels of light bug me - I feel like I'm in an operating room.

Ok, I'll bite in here, mostly because Rick is pestering me to post. I have a 29g w/2 x 55w compact pc's. Rick's concerned about finding plants that grow faster than algae. What about slapping in another one and watching out for skin cancer, as well, lol ?!!! Rick is sadly shaking his head at my mad consideration.

I haven't actually set it up, because I'm waiting for a few pump parts...and I'm whingeing about what I want to do...

TTYL,

Mary

Make sure with that much light that you have a decent amount of fast growers...i.e. stem plants in there. I just gave all my extra glosso to Nathan, but when I get more you're welcome to it.
