They are not otos.

They are a form of gobies called Stiphodons.

The blue ones are not algae eaters I'm learning, and take flake food - the red ones I have completely ignored flake in favor of munching algae.

Information here:

franksaquarium.com

Guy has a ton of oddball fish I usually don't see.

I'm definitely ordering some, will be shipped express, delivered in Mt. Airy, we can talk Saturday if anyone is interested in tagging in on the order - I already checked and he has them (red ones) in stock.

I had Jeff teach me a few things about my camera one day. The phrase "RTFM" comes to mind, heh. Still not great, but getting better!

I'm thinking they'll go after babies, just like virtually every other fish...

They do have the... I don't know what it is called. The down facing mouth of an oto, versus the front facing mouth of most other fish.

He said he has them eating frozen bloodworms, and they are eating algae. Online searches say they eat algae and daphnia and the like... so baby shrimp, most likely.

Wow, I always did love the gobies... and those are just stellar! Like I need another idea for a species tank... erk. Splashing tetras or these gobies? Grrrr...

I'm tossing the idea around about getting some Boraras since they have a nice selection (some of my all time fav fish!), so I'll talk with you guys as well about getting in on the deal. Need to do some research into the species I've not kept... I should be a good little girl and only get one species and concentrate on them but they are all so cool!
Best, Corey
