C. x Willisii

Post by Ghazanfar Ghori »

Got this plant from Dave a couple of months ago - he asked me to try and flower it for an ID. Today - the spathe opened up. Enjoy!

Awesome! So, stupid question. The "x" Willisii means it's a natural hybrid, but we don't know with what, right?

Is that the one from Aquaspot? Mine is flowering submersed right now. Pretty tough to get a photo of though. How long do they last underwater?

Well - from Jans page its thought that atleast one of the parents is C. parva. However, there are several 'varieties' of this hybrid floating around - which is why Dave thought this was something else.

I guess - Dave?
Flower doesn't last long under water...2-3 days tops. Come to think of it, it doesnt last much longer than that emersed either.

Cool! The ones I got from Jeff Senske when he planted Erin's tank a couple of years ago have never flowered. Both emersed and submerged, the clumps just keep getting biggerand bigger, but no flowers.

Cheers.
