Here's my 90 gallon planted tank. It's finally reaching a point where I'm not completely embarrassed to show it to this group. It's a work in progress and I'm learning as I go along - mostly from mistakes. Not the greatest quality pic - need to work on that too.

Specs: Lighting ~ 220 Watts, Eheim 2026 Filter, Pressurized CO2, and ferts.

Substrate: Flourite covered with pea gravel

Plants: Blyxa aubertii, Blyxa japonica, Microsorum pteropus, Hygrophila polysperma, Lobelia Cardinalis, Cryptocoryne wendtii (red), Cryptocoryne (some type), Glossostigma elatinoides, Anubias barteri

Fish: Angels (gold and silver), Rummy Nose Tetras, Black Neon Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, Corys, Clown Loaches, and a few Olive Nerite snails.

Hey, don't knock yourself, I think it looks great!

You are way past where I was last year, and I'd already been hanging around the experts longer. Super clean, nice growth!

I agree, it looks nice! I like the "mound" layout you've got going. Keep us updated on this tanks progress. :-)

That is absolutely beautiful Paul! I like the crypt on the lower right side. And I don't see any algae, so I'm jealous, LOL.... Well done. :-)

Thanks for your comments. Although not great, it is much better than what I started with several months ago. I like to keep experimenting so I'm constanlty adding and removing plants, rearranging, etc... It's hard to tell from the pic, but that "mound" is actually several large pieces of Mopani leaning against the back of the tank. The Java fern has filled in really nicely across the top but I think I need to thin out the mid ground and foreground so the driftwood and rocks are more visible. The red crypt on the lower right is defintely my favorite - I love that plant.

Looks nice Paul! One suggestion, put the Blyxa aubertii together on one side, maybe fill the right sight with the crypt you like so much, looks a little too symmetrical.

I agree Jeff, it is too symmetrical and I think your idea is interesting. Are you suggesting that I move the Bylxa aubertii on the right side in front of the one on the left side? The reason I ask is because they are fairly large plants and I don't think they would fit side by side without some major rearranging...

I'm also thinking about replacing the Hygro polysperma in the midground of the "mound" with something darker for better contrast.

Flip it - looks like more space on the right side, Aubertii there maybe?
