the 20G has MATS of clado growing on the gravel.
To the point where I literally just picked up half the dimensions of the tank in one fell swoop.
I was already going to break it down but that sealed the fate.
Question is this. I dont want to trash the gravel unless I need to, would a combo of a an H2O2 bath, the generic excel and sun drying kill off whatever algae spores are left?
about to break down the 20 but I had a question

That's probably what I would do, too. As long as you rinse it really well, it should be fine. I've used bleach to clean tanks and gravel before without any issues.
For what it's worth, this is what I did about the clado infestation in my 10 gallon: I took out all the plants, removed any gravel that had visible infestation, cleaned the filter, and did some big water changes. Put in more plants, and then every day for several days added H202, and did a water change a little later. I haven't seen any clado in weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
