Seems like a really neat little product, and maybe the perfect answer to the extra flow I need for the 180g....

Anyone used one or something like it?

Give me until Monday and I can tell you what it is like if you want. A guy who comes in weekly picked one up last weekend.

I can also check the price we have it for and see how it compares.

I'll second the Koralia. I recently picked up a #1 to add movement to my 30. It's quiet, and the magnetic mount allows you to place it low, if you choose. Only issue I have is that it does get gummed up wiith flotsam every few days.

Yeah, exactly, trying to find something a little less obtrusive than the powerheads.

They work, but are very hard to hide, and I'm thinking can't be directed as well as this thing could. I'm using a Maxi-jet now, and that is my beef with it - bugger is ugly and has to stick to the side of the tank as opposed to the rear of the tank.

Jeff, I'd be curious what feedback you get on it. If it works decently, I'll probably pick one up to polay with and see how well I can hide it. If it doesn't work out, can always stick it on another tank and go back to buying the bigger pump head for the 2260.

no problem, I have debated picking up the one that we have left as an alternative to Ghaz's skimmer idea anyways. I will try to get ahold of the guy (he uses it in SW tanks) and see what he thinks of it. I'll let ya know.

Got ahold of the guy who bought one last week. He likes it BUT he said that it isnt extremely powerful by any means. He uses his in his 30 and he said that while he likes it and it works great for surface skimming it doesnt put out a ton of flow.

He is debating seeing what the largest pump he can fit in it is.

I agree that the Hydor Koralias are probably the best way to go if you want to save a few bucks over the Eheim pump.

There is a jet nozzle you can put on the end of the loc-line you already have in place too that will add velocity to the flow. The added velocity comes soley from a narrower outlet and will stress your pump a bit more, but it's a cheap fix and worth a shot. I think I saw it somewhere on www.marinedepot.com
