Been keeping a casual eye out for a 36" setup to consolidate 2 of my current tanks into.
Found a 58g oceanic, starfire front glass, tank stand and glass top.
I know they are supposed to be a premium tank and retail high, but what should they be worth used? Assume it to be very good condition, what would you pay?
58g Oceanic set, what is it worth?
50-60% of what I could get it for new (retail).

Went and looked at this tonight.
Set is in good shape. Hadn't been cleaned on the glass, so couldn't tell for sure if it had no scratches or not, but didn't see any signs of wear and tear other than dried diatoms.
Pretty sure I could take it home for $200, tank stand lid and light.... really thinking hard about doing it.
It'd cost me at least that to do a 50 breeder setup new, and the stand wouldn't be as high, nor the tank as nice...
I'll eventually do a 46 bowfront, 50 breeder, something in this size, to conslidatye those 30 gallon sized tanks...
What do y'all think? Would you opt for the used, but premium tank set, or do a new but not as high end set?

I r now more confoosed than evah!!
For what it may be worth, this girl does seem to know what she is doing, at least in basics - she was an employee at totally fish like forever (from when she was 14), and went from there to be a vet tech.... she is something of a rescuer, has random animals. This tank housed a huge oscar by itself for a few years, then when the oscar went, was drained.

Ended up passing on it.
It is probably worth it, the girl gave me a hard time about having it clean and really able to inspect.
It ended up that I told her I'd come clean enough glass to check for scratches which she assured me there were absolutely none, and well, there were a couple. She seemed genuinely surprised, and apologized, but I was still PO'd.
Still worth the money to most folks, and it had no leaks, but I was so pissed at cleaning the glass just to find those scratches that I walked away.
