Downoi

Post by jiga923 »

I planted my mini after the last meeting and my HC is doing great but my Downoi doesn't look like its going to make it. In what condition can I get the Downoi to grow but still keep my HC looking good?

I don't know if my experience is typical, but I found that downoi really took awhile to get established and do well. Doing both DIY co2 and Excel together really made it take off.

Give it some time. The Aquasoil seems to melt it a bit in new setups due to the pH buffering effect. It will settle down in a few weeks and the downoi should bounce back.

Ill third this

I switched some over to my aquasoil tank from a tank with eco. It all melted but eventually took off and is doing fine. Some plants take some time to adjust to aquasoil and vise versa. Ive taken plants from the as tank and put in the eco tank and they melt as well.
