Some Native Killifish

Post by pmk00001 »

I don't have the photography skills of some guys on this forum but here's a couple of pics of local native killifish. The first is a pair of mummichogs (Fundulus heteroclitus), with the male in breeding color, the second is a female banded killifish (Fundulus diaphanus).

Very nice! They're more colorful than I would have thought. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I never try to raise them, but they spawn all the time in my community tank. I'm sure it would be easy.

Very nice! Much like the local killies I've collected from the roadside drainage ditches down around Deal Island. Forget the species, but surprisingly colourful and a great mosquito control for my whiskey barrel water garden.

Cheers.

Mummichogs are the reason I have a MS, great little fish.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up! ;)
