Terrarium

Post by Ben Belton »

This was posted on the orchid forum I go it. It is a 40 breeder turned on it's end. I think there are some emersed plants in the bottom, some orchids here and there, and other things. From the post...
I used a 40 gallon breeder tank. Put it on its side and made it a tall front opening terrarium. I used insulation foam to make the background, and put in aquarium drift wood as I poured the foam to make it intersting. I then used silicone (black) to attach peat fiber to the foam to make it look natural. Then I had glass cut to size and made a miniature window screen for ventilation. Attached a computer fan for more ventilation.
This is the kind of thing many people here enjoy, so I thought I would share.

Ben

Nice setup. You can see a lot more like this on the dendroboard made by dart frog enthisiasts. A lot of them are always looking for emersed grown aquatics to add to the vivariums.

Didn't know you were on the orchid board too. Small world.

Cheers.
