I'll have to take a look at the tank tonight. All I can remember in the back right is val nana and C. moehlmannii. I don't think you would confuse either of those.

If it doesn't look like wendtii 'Tropica' and does look like spiralis, then spiralis or retrospiralis are my best guess. I think all our recent (retro)spiralis came from Ghazanfar.

btw, how do you tell the diff between spiralis and retrospiralis?

Retrospiralis is thinner leaved I believe.

Also, it's likely that retrospiralis is not actually in the hobby. The plants sold as retrospiralis are usually actually Cryptocoryne crispatula var. flaccidifolia.

That's good to know. I've gotten each variety (spiralis and retro) from Donna and I wasn't sure it was true to type. I think she said she got them from Aqua Spot. Hopefully if they ever flower I'll know for sure.

Christy, if you have any left at Scales, can you bring one to the meeting for me? Seeing how it looked in Kris' tank, I really like it.

Well, I looked in the display tank and the only crypts in there are red wendtii and moehlmannii. Kris's crypt looks like it has much wider leaves than the (retro)spiralis we have at Scales. Maybe it's balansae - I don't remember ever having that in the display, but it's possible. It was in the 150g 1/2 round tank.

Jim, if you still want some (retro)spiralis, remind me to bring it a few days before the meeting.

Was this that crypt right before Aquafest you guys snagged from the display tank?

It was in the back right corner. I'd thought it was beckettii when I first saw it, but the leaf edges were different....wavy like, rippled.

Now I remember... but it's not much help. It is an unidentified crypt came to the store labelled as parva.

Hey, I wondered what had happened to those plants!

Could it be usteriana?

Undulata maybe? Kris' plant was a bit bronze.
