Just keep an eye on the bottle - don't leave the fish too long in the trap as they may go belly up if left too long.

Agree w/Aaron's technique. If you want to make your life easier, fill the bottle with water to the top of the straight section and stand it up in the freezer. Drill the small holes while it is frozen - the ice supports the plastic while you are drilling.
With small enough holes you can still trap some air in the bottles to allow the trap to float to catch fish fry, or for guppies if you use a 2L bottle. If the guppies are too smart, use two inverted tops for a double cone trap.
