Looking fantastic, and is a classic ghorig scape! I agree that the Vietnam is a bit odd looking, and I think you could add something in the dark patch on the middle-rightish side, be it a bigger rock, or another group of plants.

As far as trimming techniques, I say you make these guys suffer and wait two months for your presentation on the topic.

Any comments aside, it's a really nice scape. Near perfect execution on the trimming! Can't wait to see it in person!

Ha Ha... I think that describes my aquascaping ability. If I can just make anything but a jungle, I'll be happy. :D

I'm dosing Adobe Photoshop CS2 :)

Hehe - not you're right - I'm running it lean.
The only thing I add in is a little Iron and Brighty K at the weekly
water changes. I havent tested the water for anything. Amazonia baby!

You'll have to wait for the meeting!
Jeff120 wrote:Last questions... for now,
1)How many trims do you think it took to get the roundness of those grouping?

2) At what point do you form the shape, first trim or after a few?

3) As you layer the levels do you make distinct sharp levels or more blended?

Trimming is once every 4 weeks. Sorta. More on that at the April
meeting.

Ben Belton wrote: I want to add, can you take a picture after you trim next time? When I've actually had an aquascape, I found trimming frustrating. Everything would come out nice, I'd trim, and then it would grow back awful.

I need to open a bag of Aquasoil and get back into the groove.
I have more than that - I have video of me pruning that setup,
and before, during and after pics of the entire process. You gonna
make the April meeting?

I've ripped out the entire right side - so what you see now is only
half of what you'll see in April. Rotala sp. vietnam is now a resident
of my farm tank. Its a NICE plant though. I'm planning on using it
in a bolder way later this year.
