90P pix

Post by Ghazanfar Ghori »

Aaron and Kris have been bugging me for the last two months about getting the my 90P pix up. I finally caved...so here are the pix.

I'm having trouble tweaking the color to accurately show the
Rotala sp. colorata color. None of the pics represents it well. The color
is a blend of all three.

Anyway - I ripped out the entire right side and redid it this weekend.
Had to mow down the marselia minuta too - it was growing all over itself.

Ghaz,

Finally got around to posting those pictures.

Colors of that Rotala sp. colorata as absolutely insane. Definitely an excellent mixture and contrast between it and sp. green. What are your plans for foreground ? Will you continue to use Marsilia ? How do you feel about Rotala sp. Vietnam (?) on the back ? Unless you really look close, it looks like bare stems sticking out. Rotala macranda looks very well also !

Well done man !!! I should be coming up in March/April so you better have that sucker at its best !

Amazing. I love it. Lush and fluffy looking. I like the contrast between the different leaf types and the colors.

Wow, looks great. wish I had that kind of skill. How much time per week do you spend pruning to make those "hills" look so good?

Looking great man! Awesome color in the colorata, what are you dosing? Running pretty lean I assume, I can never get it like that!

Wonderful texture and contrast between plants.

Your right that r. verticullairs is a weed in your tank, mine is more bushy then tall

Only think that doesnt blend well is the R. Vietnam

Last questions... for now,
1)How many trims do you think it took to get the roundness of those grouping?

2) At what point do you form the shape, first trim or after a few?

3) As you layer the levels do you make distinct sharp levels or more blended?

I want to add, can you take a picture after you trim next time? When I've actually had an aquascape, I found trimming frustrating. Everything would come out nice, I'd trim, and then it would grow back awful.

I need to open a bag of Aquasoil and get back into the groove.

Same.

I've found I can take plants, I can grow most of them decently.

I'm starting to learn how to deal with most algae attacks, and to keep the tanks in relative balance.

Making those mounds... making anything but a jungle... yeah right. This is what I need to learn!
