Light option

I will be starting to purchase everything for my new 120 in the near future. I am starting to question my choice of 6 x 54w T5 for this tank. I fear that it may be too much light. Would 4 x 54 be a better option.

Yes, I will be injecting CO2 and dosing.

Well, were I you, I'd probably buy the 6x54 for the versatility it gives you, if it isn't a budget buster.

High light, low light, noonbursting, you'd have every and any option available to you.

If the fixture can be run with only 4 bulbs I'd go with the 6x, and run it with 4 until the tank was established.

Yes, I agree. Get the 6 bulb fixture and run 4 until it grows in well. Then you can have the extra two turn on in the middle of the photoperiod for a noonday burst.

Sounds good to me. I will be able to light two bulbs at a time with the setup I haver planned. I am doing a retrofit system into a DIY canopy.
