I just assumed Larry
was going to rig up a pressurised system.
Doesn't that come standard with new tanks now?? I forget this also when speaking with [sane] people... I immediately assume they have 30ppm CO2 no prob and are going for an Amano/Dutch style scape... I guess its my dream that everyone is aiming for ADA 1st place prize and wants a tank thats way too much effort
Jonathan, lookie the link Larry has in his first post.
*reads post again* Oh there IS a link there! Oops.
Those are some fairly freaky looking bulbs. Hrm... if I replace the clips in my existing hood, I could cram 4 of those puppies in there and have a very nice 384 watts (*wheels turning*).
I'd go with two of those bulbs plus the CO2 for that tank. 2 ft cubed is going to be a really cool area for planting. Are you SURE you want to keep that tank?

I bought the tank used for less that half of what it cost new. It was a custom tank. Did I mention I was a plant rookie? I have one of those CO2 dispensors like Martha has in her tank. Did I also mention I'm a cheapscate? Yes I understand that it's rated for I think 20-30 gals. I planned on a light period of 2hrs @ 96w, then 4hrs @ 192w, then 4hrs @ 96w. What do you think now?
I am thinking about making a DIY hood with one or 2 of those 96 watters so i can make use of my hex...it's an ugly quarrantine tank, breeder, holding tank, etc., but at least some plants can grow out in there.
Did you go with those Larry? I think Shawn said something about having them too. anyone care to share their experiencs?

Did you get the 96 quad lights Larry? I have mine installed in the reflectors AHSupply sells for a dual 36 inch pc lamp set up that I cut in half. Just enough reflector for each bulb and I think the design of AHSupply reflectors is better. The Boards memebers saw them the other day hanging over my 56. You can't miss them I haven't put the sides on the canopy yet.

I wish I could be like Mr. Sarcastic when I grow up!
