Just called my son. He brought up the price in the system. It is a discontinued item and the price is indeed $99 - tank, hood, light and stand.

We snagged one for $84 for my son. It is a beautiful tank. Light is really poor - single 18" fluorescent bulb.
Corporate responded to my e-mail, it is indeed a misprint of the Petco Pals special price for the "Big" anniversary sale. Corporate told the store that did the price switch to honor the $99 price for the two promised me on Sunday. I'm to visit the store this evening to get a contract from them for the delivery of two. I'll only advise of the "employee discount" when I pay.
BTW: the correct Petco Pals sales price is $249.99. There still may be some out there with the wrong price. We checked Tysons & Fairfax, got the one available at his store in Chantilly and my two are coming from Herndon.

Just picked up two from the Herndon store - total price $168.00. I have the tanks, hood and light strips at home with the store managers card signed by the team lead - "Paid for 2 Stands for Oceanic Cubes"

If you can find one, here is how to do it. This is a nomenclature thing.
You must have them scan the SKU off the TANK, not the stand. In Petco's world, a combo is a tank and stand. In Oceanic's world, a combo is tank and glass top and light. This is where the screw up is happening.
If they scan the tank, they see combo, $99 - and in their world, this means tank and stand. If they scan the stand, they see tank and stand combo, $249.
