Post by mab »

Son turned me on to Petco sale thru 10/20. Oceanic 33 gallon cube with cherry finish, stand, glass hood and light. $99 with Pals card. I can use his employee discount and get it for $80. I have two ordered.

Oops, don't tell the wife!!!!

Thats a KILLER deal! Almost too good to be true. Man.
I should try and buy one just for the sake of not passing this up!

Are more available?

I'll see if we can swing another with his discount. That is if you are serious. Is there a Petco out your way? I'm willing to go shopping with you. I have the two in Herndon (Clock Tower) already spoken for. They'll go back to back in my fish room in the middle of the floor and I plan to connect the two to increase water volume to ~60 gallons. They will each house a breeding school of my different rainbows.

Even without his discount - $99 for the setup is very good!
However, if I keep pushing my luck, I think my wife, who's been very supportive
of my hobby thus far, will kill me. I cringe as I type this - but I'll have to pass.
No wait. I'll do it! No no - I'll have to pass.

Ummm, I'll discuss with the wife shortly, I think I want one.

EDIT: I'll take the wrath. If you can swing another one on son's discount, Michael, please let me know. :)

EDIT again: Yknow what the good thing is about your wife bringing home another kitten this past weekend is? I've suddenly figured out she feels she can't say diddly about me buying a tank. Woo hoo! :)

Killer deal no more

Just called to see if stands came in on Tuesday's truck. They told me that the price was a misprint. Real price is $199.99 for tank/hood/light and $149.99 for the stand with $50 off is you buy both.

Chalk one up to a missed opportunity because I thought of buying the two tanks and getting an IOU for the stands. Teaches me to hesitate - everyone check your local Petco to see if you can get the misprint deal. Run don't walk out of the store while carrying the goods.
