You probably get what you pay for. I've never heard of Catfish Lighting before. :D

What size tank are you trying to light?

I dunno; their website says they've only been around since January 2006 because "the need for great aquarium lighting is in such great demand" which I read as "we've just jumped on the CF bandwagon".

The fixture you're looking at is $166 shipping included, and includes a nifty digital thermometer for free, (read $0.49 value) on their site.

People slam Coralife products as being overpriced, but I've got a fixture that's 20 years old that still has it's original parts and I can still get replacement parts for if I need. I think you get what you pay for and I'd stick to the tried and true.

Cheers.

That's way more light than you need. You only need one 96 watt light over a 30 gallon tank to grow any stem plant on this planet. I thought I needed two over my 65, and I'm finding out that one is perfect for what I am doing.

Aquascape? I'm a crypt farmer.

If you've got bait, I've got wasabi!

What are you doing here? You're supposed to be on vacation relaxing and generally forgetting about the rest of the world!

BTW, did you find your cell?

Cheers.

I know its more light, but his auctions are for a few bucks, not the 160... if I get to $100, I'm going the AHsupply route and building canopies for 30-40 bucks of lumber and a little time, heh.

The AH Supply route is a much better buy. You get more light for the money and you'd only need 1 96 watt kit for the 30 long. The reflectors make all the difference in the world.
