use a dead Magnum 350 as a prefilter?

Post by JMLenke »

I have a dead Magnum 350 that I was debating using as a prefilter for the Penn-Plax Cascade 1000 I have currently on my 55. Anyone know of any issues that could arise from my doing this? I was figuring that it would be a ton easier to clean the prefilter twice a month (or so) instead of cleaning the Cascade which involves it being completely torn down.

This will probably only be a temp fix until I upgrade to either an Filstar or a Marineland C series.

Go for it and fill us in. This might be as much fun as filling up a 5 gallon bucket and spilling it on the floor just to practice cleaning it up. (to paraphrase someone from PT)
