Surprise - GBR eggs

Post by neilanh »

So out of nowhere tonight I see my latest acquired female laying eggs. She's not even paired up, best I can tell. And the tank is not setup. She's laying on a leaf of my compact sword plant. One of the males is hovering around her, and brushing on the eggs, but these 2 have NEVER "hung out" before now. YOu can see the male I'm talking about behind the stellata. He was one of the originals I had, and is more than twice the size of her. Oh, this female I got as part of the twofishguyz group order we did last month.

almost 24 hours since the spawning. From what I've read, I don't believe the eggs to be fertilized... Maybe next time

As expected, they weren't fertilized. When I got home from work last night, the eggs were gone. I assume they were eaten.

Oh well, there's always next time.
