Flourish vs. CSM+B?

Post by Judi »

After starting to use some dry ferts I've continued to use Flourish for traces. But every time I need to buy more I wonder if I should keep doing what I'm doing, or consider switching to CSM+B.

Any thoughts?

Judi, I do the same thing -- use Flourish for traces, but I always buy Flourish in bulk, which significantly lowers the price. Dr. Foster Smith almost always has 2L bottles for $20, and make sure you search for coupons online, as there's usually something available that'll help save on shipping. I use Seachem Iron, Flourish, and Prime, so I usually order it together and save on shipping.

I've found the Flourish to be slightly superiour to the CSM+B. If you do switch to CSM+B I recommend dosing about 50% more of it than you do the Flourish.

Thanks for the input, guys. I may just stick with Flourish, since I think it's working for me. But I should stop fooling around buying 250 ml bottles and get it in 2 L bottles. (Same with Prime; why the heck have I been buying it in small bottles when I know full well it's been costing me more that way? :? )

I have always been happy with Seachem. I have used both and I like the pre-mix formula of Seachem because I could alway end up using a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon on one of the late aquarium nights.

Seachem has been good to our hobby and club so I say what the heck about the extra cost.

Rick makes an excellent point about Seachem being generous to our club. They're sponsored the AGA Convention we held in '04 and all three years of our nanoscape contest.
