Help me kill my BGA, Hydrogen peroxide?

Post by ingg »

I think I have the tank sorted out, but this stuff was really established before I got it there.

I've tried cleaning it, it is imbedded in the substrate in too many places, creeps back and whammo blooms, gotta get rid of it.

I've tried to read up, but am confused and don't wanna kill stuff.

2ml/gallon I read. Once? Water changes, timing of them?

Do I like....

inject it on the bga, water change right after?

Do I leave it in the water column for a time?

Help me understand exactly how to dose the tank with this to get rid of this dang slime.

1) Manual removal...as much as possible
2) 1/2 dosage of Maricyn ( BGA is bacterial )
3) Spot treat with H2O2 using a syringe
4) Dose NO3 to 10 ppm
5) Large water change the next day

It should be gone in 24 hours if you follow those steps. BGA usually shows up in low nitrate environments, hence the dosing.

There it is. Works well, but it will come back if you dont rectify the root cause
