From what I've read, the difference between the MetriCide14 and 28 is that those numbers indicate the number of days the Glutaraldehyde will remain effective for the purpose sterilizing instruments once the stuff is activated. And the MSDS on the MetriCide28, on the ProTech site, states the rust inhibitor, (sodium nitrite) is in the activator, which we would not be using anyway.

I already emailed Medical Industries of America for an MSDS on the Metricide14 they sell.

Below is the link from the manufacturers website, it contains the MSDS for all their products; the MetriCide and MetriCide 28 are both available if anyone would like to view them.

I plan on ordering a gallon this week. I don't need a whole gallon, so I will have (6) 16 oz. bottles available for anyone else who wants some. So it would be $3.00 a bottle to cover my out of pocket.

Not sure if there is enough interest to order 2 gallons. That would mean 14 pints available and $2.50 a bottle because the shipping charges stay the same.

Where are you ordering from Joe? What the cost of a gallon? I may be interested in a gallon, if not I want 2 of the 16oz bottles to test out. Thanks!

The company is Medical Industries of America. Their website link is my post at the top of the 2nd page of this thread. The cost is $12.28 a gallon, shipping is $10.00. I rounded up my figures to nearest whole or half dollar for the 16 oz portions I cited earlier.

I was thinking just getting 2 16 oz bottles aka a QUART for myself to try out.

I'd like to try a 16oz. Heck, if it doesn't work I'll at least have another cleaning product! :D

I'll take a 16 oz. bottle to test out. Can I pay you / pick it up at the March meeting?

That would be fine Aaron. So far it looks like it may just be a 1 gallon order. They ship via ground and say to
allow 2-5 days for delivery, but I don't want to wait til the last minute. So I will definitely be ordering it this week.

Jeff, I realize you started this thread, so I hope you don't mind me getting involved like this, but it peaked my
interest and I really want to try this stuff out.

Since it comes in a gallon container, I'll use 16.9 oz bottled water bottles to portion it out, as that is
what we keep around the house. I buy cases of the stuff at Sams, costs like 15 cents a bottle that way.

I will definitely bring it to the March meeting for anyone who is interested.

Just to let those who are interested know, I'm going to place the order for the MetriCide 14 (glutaraldehyde) tomorrow. Still have 2 unaccounted for 16 oz bottles to hawk at the meeting.
